Ricewich, Sum, Dim Sum... Rice takes over lunch with new delicious concepts

After innovating with the sandwiches, filling it with all kinds of innovative recipes, some people thought it was time to question that good old bread and to blow some west wind on it to turn it into rice.

Then... what happens when a rice ball mates with a sandwich? Habits get changed, mobile food gets transformed, Ricewich is born...

When the West inspires East :

Currently sold in Nethelands in Ah To Go and in France in Monop shops, Ricewich is the new comer in the trend of take away food innovations. By replacing tradional bred by a slightly toasted sticky rice, ricewich offers a new interpretation of the sandwich through the eyes of oriental culture. A clever move from Sushi Ran, a big sushi producer based in Luxembourg and Belgium who managed to adapt the japanese sushi to provide an answer to consumers' need for mobile food that offers quality, healthy ingredients while being innovative and above all easy to eat in a nomadic environnement.

Filled with 4 different types of fillings such as shrimp tempura, chicken terriaki etc, it offers a healthy (about 220 kcal/100gr) and exotic alternative  to traditional lunch take away food while providing an innovative packaging.

Rice takes over

After the sushi, it seems that rice is starting to replace bread in people's lunch boxes as we also noticed with SUM, a  new restaurant which is opening in Paris next september. Sum is a restaurant which is offering  Dim Sums (steamed bites in a rice bun), Baos (chinese steamed buns) and rice all cooked with innovating recipes (and no fat !), sold in a design packaging and a cool take away shop environment. For that, it has won an award for innovative food concept at the Snack and Sandwich Show this winter in Paris. Sum aims to develop dim sum food culture and adapt it to the occidental world just like sushis has become for us part of our almost daily food habits. A bold move which has, as far I read from it, been successfully handled with the creating recipes such as beef coriander dim sum, shrimp & bamboo or yellow curried chicken. Each dim sum assortment offers colorful bites which make your senses travels and your imagination think you have become a manga queen for the time of your lunch break !

Can't wait to taste it for real in september !!!
